Our talented students put on quite a show at Wilkes’ annual Arts Festival. Directed by music teacher George Bareford, the May 20th performance featured both group and individual efforts.

Our youngest students sang French songs, “Jean Petit qui Danse” and “Les Poissons,” taught to them by French teacher Madame Marie. Older grades also sang in French and regaled the audience with patriotic American songs, as well. Each class took a turn on stage, and it was wonderful to see the students’ progress through the years.

Individual performances included vocals, a humorous monologue, guitarists, and pianists. The Wilkes School chorus stole the show with a funny and touching performance of Annie Jr., complete with loveable orphans, a fearsome Ms. Hannigan, and even Sandy the dog. We thank Mr. Bareford for a wonderful afternoon!
